Why do employees leave?

Keeping talent is just as important as finding talent. Nowadays employment with the same employer has a shorter lifespan than in the past. Luckily, this is not always the case. Nevertheless, we have to admit that job-hopping can be a very expensive joke for employers. That is why it is always important to know what is going on within the company. We ´ve talked with a lot of candidates so far. That’s why we’ve listed what we think are the 3 main reasons that employees leave today.

Too low a salary and few opportunities for advancement

Wages often seem to play a less decisive role than before.

Yet everyone likes to be paid what he or she deserves. If an employee notices that he or she earns less than what the market stipulates, it is quickly thought that he or she is not appreciated. In addition, growth is an important factor for happiness in everyone’s life. People like to look forward to a next step, a sequel to a beginning, in short progress.

Unpleasant atmosphere

Employees do not leave companies. They leave their colleagues and managers. If an employee has problems with his manager and has no friends-colleagues, he or she will leave soon. Often the company culture determines how colleagues interact with each other. If this is right, you don’t have to worry about turnover too quickly.

Other opportunities

Certainty is relative. Sometimes there’s just a better proposal or it’s just time for something new. Essentially the grass can be greener on the other side.
